Zheyu Liang
Filmmaker / Storyteller / Advocate for Diversity
Based in Los Angeles, Zheyu is versatile filmmaker from China, dedicated to crafting compelling narratives that illuminate the experience of underrepresented communities. Her passion has generated for accolades, including an Emmy® award, the DGA Student Film Award and recognition at numerous Academy Award-qualifying film festival.

Zheyu's directing/producing/editing work explores themes of immigration, gender, and family dynamics, offering a nuanced perspective on the challenges and triumphs of diverse groups. Her films have been showcased at prestigious film festivals such as Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, CAAMFEST, Austin Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Her feature films and TV series have streamed and broadcast on global renowned platforms such as PBS, ODK Media, Alizila, Youku, attracting hundreds of millions of views.
Zheyu premiered her documentary "The Future of Hollywood" at the CESASC 58th annual convention featuring insights from acclaimed director Ang Lee and renowned actress Lisa Lu. Zheyu also contributed to the production of a commercial for Coca-Cola Regal Films, which screened in Regal Cinemas nationwide.

Throughout her career, Zheyu has collaborated with esteemed international clients including Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, TikTok, PBS, iQIYI, ODK Media, Shandong Film & TV Media International, AEG, and Fujifilm.

Zheyu received her MFA degree from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and her BA degree from Shanghai Univeristy School of Communication and Journalism. She was also a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto and the Journalism School of Cologne, Germany.
